EuroMold- Jewellery industry theme presentation
From the idea of a jewel to finished product
The EuroMold 2012 presented for the first time the jewellery industry theme presentation. Thus, EuroMold forms the entire process chain of jewellery production from design to rapid prototyping to casting machine. The theme presentation was complemented with an interesting framework programme, illustrating the importance of the process chain and the new technologies in jewellery production.
Traditionally EuroMold is an important platform for the jewellery industry, because the essential technologies and services for the entire process chain are presented here. For many exhibitors, the jewellery industry is therefore a very important market. The importance of EuroMold in this sector has risen even further through the increased importance of the generative process (3D printing) and its involvement in the jewellery manufacturing.
In recent years, the generative process has widely spread through the production of moulds in the jewellery industry. In addition to the increasing efficiency of the plants, the development of specific materials has also contributed to it. During the production of patterns in 3D printing you can speak of a standard procedure, said Christian Frowein of Envisiontec GmbH from Gladbeck, which provides the jewellery industry worldwide with much of its rapid prototyping equipment.
Besides Germany, the Italian jewellery industry is traditionally one of the world’s leading manufacturers and exporters. For Dr. Gianluigi Barettoni, president of the Italian jewellery machines association Afemo, EuroMold offers an excellent platform for the theme presentation: “Already at EuroMold 2011, we have very successfully discovered and developed synergies relevant to jewellery industry, and we can significantly intensify this at EuroMold 2012.”
The Italian engineering company Cimo has specialised in lost-wax casting. “At EuroMold we especially look at the prototyping process with the wide range of current research to industrial application. Already at EuroMold 2011, we as an exhibitor have collected positive experience and therefore are particularly looking forward to the theme presentation this year”, said Roberto Violini, commercial director Cimo.
